I consider myself a story teller—using photo and design to create narratives whether it be for a business, a brand, a family, a couple, or an individual. I have found that the work I do shares this common thread, even as the subject matter differs.
My portraiture work is fairly self explanatory, but the brand building I do is more complex. It’s important to me to start with a strong foundation. I don’t want to build an identity that won’t serve my clients over time, or be able to grow with them. Once we have established this base, my goal is to continue working with my clients through on-going content creation via marketing, photography, and design. In this way I can continue to develop their story with them, as we learn and grow together.
Shooting weddings and capturing real moments seems in many ways separate from branding, identity work, and commercial photography; however all of my work carries the same characteristics: attention to detail, authenticity, thoughtful composition, creativity and my own personal touch. Everything I do is designed to share a story in a way that is accessible and real.
I am a North East Ohio native, and divide my time between Akron, Columbus, and Cleveland, as well as traveling the world as much as possible.
I love to travel. As long as I am able and have the means I aim to see as much of the world as I can. Accordingly I am available—and have the desire—to travel long distances for work.
In my leisure time I sometimes paint, but mostly I just lay in bed drinking fancy cocktails, while I tell my cat she's the silky one. She usually just flops and around and screams at me dramatically. I also have an 19 year old chinchilla named Claude [may he live forever].
I really love my home. I spend a lot of time decorating and organizing my space. I was able to redesign my kitchen and I am going to continue subtly dropping hints about remodeling my bathroom until my landlord realizes it's a great idea to let me redesign that too.
I love Harry Potter, the earth, cocktails, riding my scooter, and toast. I've also recently acquired some beautiful tattoos that I believe make me much cooler, my boyfriend assures me they do not.
I believe in working with businesses who are doing something that matters to them, and to their communities, using techniques, practices and ideologies that align with my own. I care deeply about the earth and all the humans in it. At present I feel there is often a tendency to think of “me”, instead of “we”. I hope to work with businesses who are thinking of we also. I feel that my purpose on earth is to make life better for the people around me, and hopefully those further away, leaving it a better place than when I entered it.
My working relationships are the strongest with businesses and people who care about telling an authentic story, and investing the time and energy into doing so. I trust them to be an expert in what they do, just as I expect that same trust in return. I am always growing and looking to improve, but also believe I am good at what I do and bring as much to the table as my clients do. I view it as a partnership, with the goal of building and growing the best possible brand.
